How do I find a specific place (with the search feature)?

Our searchable database contains nearly 110,000 towns, cities, and counties in the US, so we're pretty sure we can help you locate nearly any place you'd want to find. To get started, use the search bar near the top of the page.

If you want to find a unique name like Boston, or San Francisco, that should be no problem. But what about a common name like Johnson? If you want to find Johnson, Oklahoma, among all the other cities named "Johnson," "Johnson City," "Fort Johnson," "Johnson Creek," "Johnson Crossroads," etc.?

You can either scroll down through all the various options until you stumble across Johnson, Oklahoma, or you could simply add a comma separator and the state initials (per the image below) to find exactly what you're looking for.

Or what if you are looking for a county, not a city? Take, for instance, Johnson County, Kentucky. Just add the word "county" to the search string, and you will immediately find the county,

So search away and have fun exploring!
